2010 Wag Walk and Run Raises $60,000

Helping Paws second Wag Walk and Run held on May 23 at Purgatory Recreation Area in Eden Prairie was a smashing success!  Thanks to everyone who participated and to the board members, staff, graduates, foster homes and volunteers who came out for the event.

Even though the day was a little hot and humid, we had over 525 participants along with 350 dogs.  The event generated $60,000, a 35% increase over 2009!

March Goodness Wasn't Just Good, It Was GREAT!

The Razoo March Goodness Tournament ended on April 6.  Helping Paws would like to thank everyone for their overwhelming support.  We raised $25,231, enough to sponsor five of our new puppies.  That sure gives the puppies something to cheer about!

PAYROLL DEDUCTION DONATIONS

It is the time of year where many employers are asking their employees to designate a charitable organization (501c) of their choice to receive donations through payroll deductions. Helping Paws greatly appreciates the generosity of these donations. If donating through the Greater Twin Cities United Way, agency codes are no longer needed, just list Helping Paws, Inc. and our address, P.O. Box 634, Hopkins, MN 55347. The Helping Paws charity code for Northern Lights Combined Federal Campaign is 98695.

Helping Paws is having a baby boom, or to be precise, a puppy boom.  Faith, a Helping Paws breeding dog, gave birth to her first litter on March 11th, 6 girls and 3 boys.

You can watch these nine Golden Retriever puppies grow on the Faith Puppy blog.

Thanks to Faith and Cheers (and their wonderful caretaker homes), Helping Paws will have 19 new service dogs in training this spring.  We hope all of the waiting foster homes are getting lots of sleep - these puppies will be ready to go to their foster homes before you know it!

PUPPIES - Februay 2009

WE HAVE PUPPIES! Cheers, a Helping Paws breeding dog, gave birth to 10 puppies on February 1st. This is Cheers' first litter and she is proving to be an exceptionally good mother. You can follow Cheers and her puppies on the Cheers Puppy blog.

Faith, another breeding dog for Helping Paws, is expecting her first litter on March 15th.
